Blue Jays claim Andy Wilkins from White Sox

The Toronto Blue Jays have claimed first baseman Andy Wilkins off waivers from the Chicago White Sox and have optioned him to triple-A Buffalo.

The 26-year-old Wilkins appeared in 14 games this spring for the White Sox, batting .333 with six RBI.

The first baseman batted .293 last season for the Charlotte Knights in triple-A with league-high 30 home runs and 85 RBI.
