Blue Jays’ Donaldson going to third straight all-star game

TORONTO – Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson is going to his third straight all-star game after being named to the American League squad on Tuesday night.

The reigning MVP is having another dominant season and his OPS of .992 heading into Tuesday’s action was tied for third with Jose Altuve in the American League, percentage points behind Mike Trout’s .994 for second.

Donaldson is second on the Blue Jays with 22 homers and 60 RBIs, helping carry the team offensively while providing elite defence at third base.
