Toronto Blue Jays infielder Steve Tolleson has cleared waivers, Sportsnet’s Shi Davidi reported Tuesday. The Blue Jays announced that he has been outrighted to triple-A Buffalo.
The infielder was designated for assignment April 24, at which point rival MLB teams had the chance to claim him.
Tolleson picked up just 12 plate appearances before losing his roster spot, but he batted .253/.308/.371 in 189 plate appearances last year. The 31-year-old hits left-handers well and can play multiple positions.
