Blue Jays’ Marcus Stroman miffed by MLB All-Star Game snub

Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Marcus Stroman talks about his teammates going to the MLB All-Star Game, being snubbed, and how he thinks he had done enough this season to get him there.

Barring the need for a late injury replacement, Marcus Stroman won’t be joining teammates Justin Smoak and Roberto Osuna in Miami for next Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game.

And to him, that just isn’t right.

Entering Saturday’s game, Stroman had a 3.42 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP in 105.1 innings pitched.

The 26-year-old righty improved his record to 9-5 after pitching seven innings of six-hit, one-run ball against the Houston Astros on Sunday. The Blue Jays won 7-2 as Stroman struck out six and walked three.

Stroman said he was fuelled by the perceived snub.

Stroman’s pitching performance was just what the Blue Jays needed after a tough 12-2 loss Friday. However, he said he was given no favours by home plate umpire Paul Nauert throughout the game.
