Toronto Blue Jays catcher Dioner Navarro will join the triple-A Buffalo Bisons for an injury rehab assignment Tuesday night.
Navarro was placed on the disabled list on April 23 (retroactive to April 22) with a strained left hamstring.
Before getting hurt, the 31-year-old was batting .267/.294/.333 with eight hits and four RBI in eight games played.
Last season, Navarro put up a productive .274/.317/.395 slash line with 12 home runs and 69 RBI in 139 games.
Before the season began, he expressed an interest in being traded by the Blue Jays. Russell Martin signed with Toronto in the off-season, which pushed Navarro into a backup role.
