The Toronto Blue Jays have brought back right-handed pitcher Roberto Hernandez on a minor-league deal.
Hernandez signed with the Blue Jays in the off-season, but opted out of his contract prior to opening day. He will report to extended spring training.
The 35-year-old spent the 2015 season with the Houston Astros, splitting his time between the starting rotation and the bullpen. He posted a 4.36 ERA over 20 appearances.
A former all-star, Hernandez has pitched to a 70-98 record with a 4.58 ERA over 10 MLB seasons.
