Graduation ceremonies for athletes don’t have the best history with Toronto sports fans, but Marcus Stroman‘s on Sunday was a little more benign.
The 25-year-old took to Twitter to describe receiving his degree from Duke University as the greatest accomplishment of his career thus far.
Like a typical student, he also made plenty of time to pose for pictures with friends and family.
Stroman has been more involved with his alma mater than most MLB players recently as he rehabbed extensively at Duke while recovering from a torn ACL in 2015.
The right-hander has gotten off to a strong start to the season with a 4-0 record and 3.54 ERA, a performance good for 1.1 Wins Above Replacement. The right-hander ranks sixth in baseball with 56 innings pitched allowing 15 walks and punching out 41.
