The Cleveland Indians agreed to sign infielder David Adams to a major league deal, an industry source told Sportsnet. The 26-year-old hit free agency earlier this month when the New York Yankees non-tendered him.

Adams appeared in 43 games for the 2013 Yankees, playing first, second and third base. He hit .193/.252/.286 in 152 plate appearances after hitting a robust .291/.376/.441 throughout a six-year minor-league career. The Yankees selected Adams in the third round of the 2008 draft.
