There are a lot of perks to working in sports media.
You get a press pass for games and events, you can to talk to athletes directly and you win bragging rights over your friends who are probably holed up in a cubicle working a desk job.
However, it’s not all fun and games—the sports media game can be a pretty sticky one at times as well. Just ask Hazel Mae, who had an entire cooler of Powerade dumped over her head Thursday night.
While interviewing Justin Smoak after the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 5-3, Mae was given almost all of the Powerade shower meant for Smoak, who hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning. (See the video at the top of this post.)
Toronto reliever Ryan Tepera was the culprit in question who completely flubbed the traditional celebration and caught some lighthearted ribbing for it from both Blue Jays fans and commentators on Twitter—including from Mae herself.

We’ll have to see if Tepera’s going to pick up that dry-cleaning bill.
