Game 6 between the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs gave fans everything they asked for — and more.
Ray Allen hit a 3-pointer with 5.2 seconds to play to force overtime and the Heat staved off elimination with a 103-100 victory over the Spurs.
Unfortunately, a select bunch decided to leave the American Airlines Arena early — when the Spurs were leading late in the fourth quarter and on the verge of a fifth championship — and like many venues in sport, no re-admittance is permitted once you exit the gate.
Victor Oquendo, a sports anchor and reporter for WPLG Local 10 in Miami, tweeted a rundown of what transpired:
Fans streaming out…I'm gonna throw up

Honestly embarrassing. I'm setting up for my live shot outside the arena, just watching fan after fan exit early.

Now I'm watching horrible, drunk, quitting fans desperately trying to get back in. This is madness.

None of them deserve to be let in. They are pounding the glass doors. I'm all for gender equality but I'm only seeing female guards….

Might need to call the big dogs in soon. Just sayin'

@juanguibeme they're not. It's absurd. People screaming about how they paid good money. Really?!

Cops finally here. Fans still pounding on the doors begging to be let in.

@sunsentinello once they leave, they are not allowed back in. And they are STILL begging to be let in
