Free Association: Jimmy Goldstein plays NBA Fashion Police

You may know Jimmy Goldstein as the NBA’s premier “Superfan”, a man who David Stern once called the league’s largest single investor of tickets.

He’s had Lakers seasons tickets since ’61 (though he always roots against the home team) and during the playoffs visits arenas around the NBA, where, well, he certainly sticks out from the crowd.

But he also plays a big role in the fashion industry (if you couldn’t tell by his stylish digs) and is a fixture at runway shows around the world (he compares Milan & Paris fashion shows to the NBA Playoffs). Goldstein was recently a guest on Free Association- Sportsnet’s weekly Raptors & NBA podcast- where he explained why Los Angeles NBA fans are the worst dressed in the league – “L.A. is a fashion wasteland”- and revealed the how a regular Joe like you and I can land a supermodel date to your next NBA game.

Goldstein also talks about the latest project for his swank L.A. mansion, which you may recognize as Jackie Treehorn’s house from The Big Lebowski.

Needless to say, an interesting dude that, unsurprisingly, led to an interesting conversation.
