LeBron greets Special Olympian, gives him shoes

LeBron James did something amazing Tuesday night, and it had nothing to do with his play on the court.

Aaron Miller is a 16-year-old Newton, Mass., native who was born with severe brain damage that doctors said would paralyze him for life.

Miller was honoured during halftime of Boston’s game against the Cavaliers for being named the MVP of a local Special Olympics event, and James took notice. The four-time NBA MVP sought out Miller in the crowd and went over to show his respect.

But that wasn’t the end of LeBron’s nice gesture. Following the game, James met up with Miller and gave him his game-worn sneakers.

James later opened up to reporters about his moment with Miller and what prompted him to do what he did.

This is just the latest charitable effort from the NBA star, who in March was honoured in Akron for the various youth-related programs and philanthropic initiatives he has established in his hometown.
