The Toronto Raptors have agreed on a three-year deal with head coach Dwane Casey, according to a source with knowledge of the negotiations.
The Raptors ripped up the option year on Casey’s current deal, meaning he will remain on as Toronto’s coach until the 2018-19 season.

The club has been reportedly working on an extension with Casey this week, who is entering the final year of his current contract.
In May of 2014, Casey signed a three-year extension worth a reported $11.25 million. Terms of the current reported extension are unclear. The Raptors declined to comment, per team policy.
Since taking over as coach of the Raptors in June 2011, Casey has accumulated a franchise-best 210 wins, including a record 56-26 mark this season, followed by a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Given the Raptors’ recent success, the team hasn’t exactly been shy about their desire to keep Casey in Toronto long-term. “Coach Casey’s our coach for the future,” Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri said on Monday at the team’s season-ending press conference. “That’s very easy for us to figure out. That will be done in our sleep.”
The deal is expected to be finalized as early as this week.
