After firing two assistant coaches earlier this year, the Toronto Raptors are reportedly finalizing an agreement to hire former Oklahoma City Thunder staffer Rex Kalamian.

Kalamian spent six seasons with the Thunder and was the top assistant under former head coach Scott Brooks. He’s held previous coaching positions with the Sacramento Kings, Minnesota Timberwolves, Denver Nuggets, Philadelphia 76ers and the Los Angeles Clippers.

Kalamian was regarded as a potential head coach for Oklahoma City, but when Billy Donovan came in to fill the role his contract was not retained.

The current assistant coaching staff under head coach Dwane Casey includes Nick Nurse, Jesse Mermuys, Jama Mahlalela and Alex McKechnie.
