Jeter’s team-by-team trail of destruction

Derek Jeter’s retiring. But you know that. We all know that—we’ve read the tributes, we’ve seen the (often ridiculous) parting gifts forked over by opposing MLB teams, we’ve all been mildly nauseated by the sappily emotional farewells. But, of course, he deserves a lot of praise—not everyone (by definition, really) can be the sixth-best hitter in baseball history.
So as Jeter plays his last game in Toronto tonight, we look at just how good he’s been and against whom—all of which suggests that the gifts from some teams and the praise from some quarters may be less “congrats on a stellar career” and more “thanks for finally going away.”
