Einarson earns win over Muirhead in Champions Cup Draw 2

Sportsnet is again your home, as the top winners from around the world will collide at the Humpty's Champions Cup, the final Grand Slam of Curling event of the 2015-16 season.

SHERWOOD PARK, Alta. — Winnipeg’s Kerri Einarson took down Eve Muirhead of Scotland 7-3 during Draw 2 action Wednesday morning at the Humpty’s Champions Cup.

Muirhead was ahead 2-1 after two ends but jammed on a double attempt in the third and Einarson capitalized drawing for a deuce to take the lead.

Einarson extended her advantage to 6-2 following back-to-back steals when Muirhead hit and rolled too far with her last in the fourth end to give up one and missed the mark with an angle raise attempt in five to concede two more points.

Facing multiple counters in six, Muirhead landed on the lid with her last to get a single and Einarson matched with a point in seven to bring out handshakes.

Nadine Lehmann from Team Alina Paetz is subbing on Team Muirhead for Anna Sloan, who is out for the rest of the season due to an ACL injury.
