It may be the off-season, but a handful of NFL players were on centre stage Sunday night during the hit show Family Feud.
Eddie Lacy, Vernon Davis, Calais Campbell, Matt Forte and Thomas Davis made up the NFC ‘family’ with Antonio Brown, Terrell Suggs, Nick Mangold, DeMarcus Ware and Antonio Gates countering for the AFC.
Vernon Davis stole the show early with an obscure answer to the first question of the night. Asked “If you’re good at reading body language, which part of a woman speaks the loudest?” the San Francisco 49ers’ tight end responded with “her feet.” Host Steve Harvey naturally gave the two-time Pro Bowler a hard time.
With his team needing a correct answer to avoid a third strike in the round, Davis redeemed himself when the question came back around to him by giving the answer “glutes.”
Later in the game, Davis once again had viewers in hysterics with a creative, but wrong answer to the question: “Name something that follows the word ‘strip.'”
Other highlights included bruising Baltimore Ravens linebacker Suggs hitting the buzzer with too much force, and New York Jets centre Mangold saying he would pay $10 million to be intimate with his wife.
In the end, the AFC ended up winning the $25,000 prize for their charity, the Players Assistance Trust, due in large part to Mangold’s clutch performance in the second round of ‘fast money.’
