Marlies sign Rich Clune, Marc-Andre Cliche to AHL contracts

Rich Clune scored the game-winning goal late in a wild third period to get the Marlies a 4-3 win over the Devils to advance to the Eastern Conference final.

The Toronto Marlies have signed forward Rich Clune to an AHL contract, the team announced Monday.

Clune was an alternate captain for the Marlies last season, scoring eight goals and 24 points in 49 games.

He also played 19 games for the Maple Leafs, registering four assists.

The Marlies also signed forward Marc-Andre Cliche to a minor-league deal.

The 29-year-old had six goals and 13 assists in 38 games with AHL San Antonio in 2015-16.
