The Calgary Flames‘ vacation mode is apparently still activated.
The Flames entered their bye week winning four of the last five games, but were crushed by the Arizona Coyotes 5-0 in the return from a five-day break.
But there was a pretty neat moment before the puck was dropped as the Flames welcomed 10 newly sworn-in Canadians to sing the national anthem.

Rolling Rangers
There are few teams as hot as the New York Rangers, who have won six in a row after beating the Columbus Blue Jackets 3-2.
The Rangers (37-18-1) are now tied with Columbus and the Pittsburgh Penguins for second place in the Metropolitan Division. The Blue Jackets have a game in hand on New York while Pittsburgh has two.
A welcome sight back in the Rangers lineup was defenceman Dan Girardi, who had missed the last two games with an ankle injury after blocking a shot last week against Anaheim. The 32-year-old alternate captain tied the game at 1-1 for New York just 12 seconds into the second period while short-handed.
Nyquist showdown
Detroit Red Wings forward Gustav Nyquist will have a phone hearing with the NHL’s department of player safety on Wednesday for his high-sticking infraction on Minnesota Wild defenceman Jared Spurgeon.
Nyquist was originally offered an in-person hearing but waived his right to attend on Tuesday. The in-person offer allows the NHL to suspend Nyquist for six or more games.
Nyquist, who has never been suspended during his six-year NHL career, was given a double minor on the play.
