Unrestricted free agent forward Andrei Kostitsyn has reportedly signed a one-year contract with KHL club Traktor Chelyabinsk.
Russian website sports.ru reported the deal on Friday.
Kostitsyn scored 16 goals and added 20 assists in 72 regular season games with the Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators. He was the Habs’ first pick, 10th overall, in the 2003 NHL draft and reunited with his brother Sergei in a deal with the Predators at the trade deadline in February.
Kostitsyn had three goals and an assist in eight playoff games but was scratched from Game 3 of Nashville’s second-round series against the Phoenix Coyotes after breaking the team’s curfew. He was spotted along with teammate Alexander Radulov at 4 a.m. in Scotsdale, Ariz., on the night before Game 2.
The 27-year-old from Navapolatsk, Belarus, has 99 goals and 111 assists in 379 career games.
