Antropov launches butt-end in KHL playoff game

Nik Antropov is back in the spotlight, but probably not for reasons he’d prefer.

The former Toronto Maple Leaf, New York Ranger, Atlanta Thrasher and Winnipeg Jet appeared to launch a butt-end towards Chad Kolarik of Avangard Omsk in a KHL playoff game on Wednesday.

Antropov is the captain of Barys Astana, the Kazakhstan-based team he has played for since 2012. In four post-season games, he has been held scoreless.

One of the best parts of the video comes just before the one-minute mark when Omsk coach Raimo Summanen unleashes on the referees for not calling a penalty on the play. Avangard Omsk won the game 4-3 to even up the best-of-seven series 2-2.

You be the judge: was Antropov’s butt-end really that vicious, or did Kolarik dive/embellish?
