The sale of the Arizona Coyotes is expected to be completed on New Year’s Eve, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.
After reports surfaced earlier this month that a deal between the Coyotes and hedge-fund manager Andrew Barroway was falling apart, Friedman reported Saturday on Hockey Night in Canada that it will get done and that the holdup was due to the NHL wanting more money from the deal to be put back into the team.
Barroway, who once tried to buy the New York Islanders, is going to have 51 percent interest in the Coyotes once the deal goes through.
