Blues sign goaltender Ville Husso to 3-year entry-level deal

Tonight was not Brian Elliott's night. The usually unsolvable Brian Elliott was pulled in the first period after allowing three goals on seven shots.

The St. Louis Blues have signed goaltender Ville Husso to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Husso won gold as as the backup of the Finnish world junior team in 2014 and was the NHL Central Scouting’s top-ranked European goalie heading into the 2014 NHL Draft, where he was taken 94th overall by St. Louis.

The 21-year-old played in 39 games with HIFK in Finland’s top hockey league, posting a .927 save percentage and a 1.91 goals-against average this year. He put up even better numbers in the playoffs (.935, 1.55) as HIFK fell to Tappara in the final.
