Blues sign rookie D Joel Edmundson to two-year contract

ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Blues signed rookie defenceman Joel Edmundson to a two-year, $2.1 million contract extension Friday.

The 22-year-old Edmundson was a second-round draft pick in 2011.

Edmundson has one goal and eight assists in 66 games and has set a franchise rookie record with 162 hits. He also ranks among the rookie leaders with 63 penalty minutes.
