Boston Bruins defenceman Adam McQuaid will be out approximately eight weeks, the team announced on Friday.
McQuaid suffered a broken right fibula in Thursday night’s win over the Vancouver Canucks. The blueliner is scheduled to have surgery on Oct. 23.
In six games for the Bruins this season, the 31-year-old defenceman has recorded one assist and 12 penalty minutes.
