B’s deal Bochenski to Ducks for Hnidy

BOSTON — The Boston Bruins acquired defenceman Shane Hnidy and a sixth-round draft pick from the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday in exchange for forward Brandon Bochenski.

Hnidy, a seven-year veteran, has one goal and two assists in 33 games for the Ducks this season. He had five goals and seven assists in 72 games for the Atlanta Thrashers last season. Originally a seventh-round draft pick of the Buffalo Sabres, Hnidy also has played for the Ottawa Senators and Nashville Predators.

The team said Hnidy is expected to be available for its home game against the Washington Capitals on Thursday.

Bochenski has six assists in 20 games for the Bruins this season. He has 21 goals and 26 assists in 101 career NHL games with the Bruins, Senators and Chicago Blackhawks.
