The Calgary Flames have recalled centre Markus Granlund from the Stockton Heat of the AHL.

Granlund was the 45th overall pick in the 2011 NHL Draft and has played with the Flames in each of the past two seasons.

He leads the Heat in points with nine in 12 games. In 83 career AHL games, the 22-year-old has 72 points.

Markus is the younger brother of Mikael Granlund, who plays for the Minnesota Wild.
