Calgary Flames to waive Jaromir Jagr

HC at Noon conversation on whether it’s sad how Jaromir Jagr’s career seems to be ending, with John Shannon saying we should all celebrate his great career, but the fact is that all careers end.

Jaromir Jagr‘s time with the Calgary Flames appears to be coming to an end.

Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman is reporting that the Flames will waive the future Hall of Famer on Sunday, giving 30 other NHL teams a chance to claim him.

Jagr signed a one-year contract with the Flames on Oct. 4, but has just one goal and six assists in 22 games since.

The 45-year-old has 766 goals and 1,921 points in his career, good for third and second all time in those categories.

His 1,733 games played are third all time, behind Mark Messier (1,756) and Gordie Howe (1,767).
