MONTREAL — The Montreal Canadiens invited Tomas Fleischmann to their training camp on a professional tryout contract Saturday.
Fleischmann, 31, split last season between the Florida Panthers and Anaheim Ducks. In 66 games, he had eight goals and 19 assists.
The left-winger added an assist in six playoff games for the Ducks, who were eliminated by the eventual Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks in the Western Conference final.
Fleischmann’s most productive season came in 2011-12 when he scored 27 goals and 34 assists in 82 games for the Panthers. He’s also played for the Colorado Avalanche and Washington Capitals.
