Al Montoya was supposed to start Tuesday against the Dallas Stars. That is no longer the case.
The Montreal Canadiens announced all-star Carey Price is forced to forego a scheduled off night because his backup, Montoya, has a lower-body injury.
According to Sportsnet’s John Bartlett, Montoya appeared to sustain the injury during practice Monday and then he aggravated the ailment during the morning skate.
#Habs Al Montoya is bothered by a lower body injury through morning skate, so he won't go. Change of plans as Carey Price will now start.

#Habs Montoya appeared to tweak something during practice yesterday and was trying to shake it off. Looks like 24 hrs not enough.

That news that Price will be starting came 20 minutes after the Canadiens’ Twitter account noted Montoya was getting the call against the Stars.
Zach Fucale has been called up from the ECHL’s Brampton Beast on an emergency basis to serve as the second-string goaltender Tuesday night, Sportsnet’s Eric Engels reports.
The Canadiens are 42-24-9 and, with 93 points, are three points ahead of the Ottawa Senators for first place in the Atlantic Division. The Sens have a game in hand.
