The Montreal Canadiens have traded defenceman Joe Morrow to the Winnipeg Jets.

Morrow has five goals and 11 points in 38 games this season, his first with Montreal.

The 25-year-old will be a restricted free agent this off-season.

Pittsburgh drafted the Edmonton native 23rd overall in 2011, and traded him to Dallas in 2013.

The Stars used Morrow as part of their package used to pry Tyler Seguin from Boston, where he played for three seasons before joining the Canadiens as a free agent.
