The Vancouver Canucks are not expected to compete for a playoff spot in 2017-18, but prospect Elias Pettersson should give fans plenty to look forward to – even if he is overseas.
The 18-year-old was at a skills competition for the Vaxjo Lakers of the Swedish Hockey League, when he went between his legs for a beautiful goal in a shootout.
The Canucks picked Pettersson fifth overall at the 2017 NHL Draft, after the Sundsvall, Sweden, native scored 19 goals and 41 points in 43 games with Timra AK of Allsvenskan this past season.
With moves like those, he could be making an impact in North America sooner rather than later.
