The Carolina Hurricanes have signed defenceman Brenden Kichton on a one-year, two-way contract worth $700,000 in the NHL and $235,000 in the AHL.

Kichton, 25, had a goal and 23 points in 63 AHL games with the Manitoba Moose this past season.
