Blackhawks call out Bieber for stepping on logo

Justin Bieber stepped on the logo at the centre of the Chicago Blackhawks' dressing room, and the Twitter backlash is deafening.

The camera catches all. The camera doesn’t lie. The camera loves them, Justin Bieber and Stanley Cup.

So when the camera caught the Canadian pop star stepping on the Chicago Blackhawks’ logo while taking a photograph of Canada’s greatest gift to the sports trophy world (Inception‘d yet?), the resulting image quickly became a shot heard ’round the world. Or, at least, the tweeting-about-hockey world.

A big hockey fan who has in the past skated alongside the Toronto Maple Leafs, Bieber apparently needs a lesson in the traditions and superstitions of the game. Namely, do not tread on the sacred club logo, even if it is inconveniently placed directly in the centre of the dressing room.

We’re sure Bieber meant no disrespect when he stepped on the Blackhawks’ Indian head Tuesday evening prior to his Chicago arena show, but the social media blow-back from Blackhawks supporters has been fierce.

On Wednesday, new Stanley Cup champions Andrew Shaw and Brandon Bollig (jokingly?) called out the pop star on Twitter.

Apparently if logo cop Brent Seabrook were around, the Biebs wouldn’t have gotten away with his misstep:

Shaw later softened the blow:
