Conflicting reports on Weiss shoulder injury

Stephen-Weiss

In 2012-13 and 2013-14, Stephen Weiss was limited to a total of 43 games by injuries and he’s only played in 11 so far this season. The fourth overall pick from the 2001 draft just can’t seem to catch a break and ran into some more bad luck against his former team, the Florida Panthers.

Weiss did not finish Friday’s game after being injured again. It’s believed he hurt his shoulder on this second period hit from Sean Bergenheim. Weiss finished the second period, but did not come back for the third.

After the game, there were conflicting reports from the Red Wings brass on Weiss’ status.
