When your team hasn’t won a Stanley Cup since 1967 and you see the same old patterns repeating themselves, you’re going to get a little testy.

Fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs have thrown waffles. This season, they’ve made a sport of throwing their (expensive) jerseys on the ice in protest. In one case, a beer can was even thrown on the home team’s bench, spilling brew all over Jonathan Bernier.

So, after Thursday’s 5-2 win, it appeared as though the Leafs fired back at their disgruntled fan base.

Usually after wins, the entire Maple Leafs team will skate to centre ice and raise their sticks up in the air to salute the home crowd. But after the win against Tampa Bay, there was no such salute.
