The Anaheim Ducks have acquired forwards Spencer Abbott and Sam Carrick from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for forward Kenton Helgesen and a seventh-round pick in 2019.
Abbott and Carrick were the two leading scorers of Chicago’s farm team, the Rockford IceHogs.
The 28-year-old Abbott has 15 goals and 35 points in 53 games with the IceHogs. Carrick, 25, has 11 goals and 28 points.
Both players have made brief NHL cameos with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Helgesen has spent this season with the ECHL’s Utah Grizzlies where he has three goals and 13 points in 38 games. He was a seventh-round pick of the Ducks in 2012.
