Flames assign trio of forwards to AHL Stockton

Cam Talbot spoke with Sportsnet’s Gene Principe after the Edmonton Oilers beat the Calgary Flames.

The Calgary Flames have assigned a trio of forwards to the AHL’s Stockton Heat as the NHL enters its all-star break. Ryan Lomberg, Marek Hrivik, and Andrew Mangiapane have all been sent down.

One day after making his NHL debut in Thursday’s shootout loss to the Edmonton Oilers, Lomberg finds himself back in the AHL. Lomberg didn’t register a point in his first taste of NHL action, but showed up on the stat sheet by picking up a fighting major.

Hrivik, a native of Slovakia, skated in two games for Calgary after his recall on Jan. 19, failing to record a point.

The 21-year-old Mangiapane has appeared in eight games for the Flames this season, posting a minus-3 rating. He has 35 points in 30 games for Stockton in 2017-18.
