Johnny Gaudreau says he is ready to go.
The diminutive forward is expected to make his return to the Calgary lineup on Sunday, when the Flames host the Anaheim Ducks.
Gaudreau missed 10 games after injuring his finger in a game against the Minnesota Wild on Nov. 15 and was expected to miss six weeks.
The 23-year-old has five goals and 11 points in 17 contests this season for the Flames, who have won two straight.
He will be wearing a special glove, with extra padding to protect his hand.
Gaudreau took a beating on against the Wild, with some counting as many as 21 slashes being given to last year’s seventh-highest scorer in the league.
The shifty forward was diplomatic about his treatment in that game, and the lack of response by the referees, calling it “a part of hockey”.
