Flames trim training camp roster by 10 players

Patrik Laine recorded five points and the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Calgary Flames.

The Calgary Flames have reduced their training camp roster by 10 players, the team announced Tuesday.

Forwards Brett Pollock, Morgan Klimchuk, Ryan Lomberg and Spencer Foo as well as goaltender David Rittich have been assigned to the AHL’s Stockton Heat. Wingers Hunter Shinkaruk and Emile Poirier along with defenceman Tyler Wotherspoon were placed on waivers for the purpose of being assigned to Stockton.

Calgary also returned Dillon Dube and Juuso Valimaki to the WHL’s Kelowna Rockets and Tri-City Americans, respectively.

The Flames’ roster now sits at 28 players, not including the injured Dan Pribyl and Marek Hrivik.
