Flyers’ Cote retires, joins Phantoms’ staff

PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia Flyers forward Riley Cote has retired and will stay with the organization as an assistant coach for the team’s AHL affiliate.

Cote announced his decision Monday. He played in 156 games for the Flyers and scored one goal with seven points and 411 penalty minutes from 2006-2010.

He joined head coach Greg Gilbert’s staff with the AHL’s Adirondack Phantoms.
