Forward Jakub Vrana recalled by Capitals

Jakub Vrana scored the first goal of his NHL career as the Capitals beat the Sabres 4-1.

The Washington Capitals have recalled forward Jakub Vrana, the team announced Friday.

Vrana has one goal and two assists with the Capitals in 12 games this season, his first in the NHL.

The 20-year-old was taken 13th overall in the 2014 NHL Draft and has 13 goals and 24 points in 30 games with the AHL’s Hershey Bears in 2016-17.

The Capitals travel to Montreal to take on the Canadiens on Saturday.
