Frederik Andersen to start for Maple Leafs on Thursday vs. Predators

HC at Noon discussion on just how important making the playoffs is for this group of young Maple Leafs, it would be major devastation if they got this far and missed out.

After putting a scare into Toronto Maple Leafs fans this past weekend, goaltender Frederik Andersen will start against the Nashville Predators on Thursday night.

Andersen left Saturday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres with an upper-body injury that was thought to be sustained when he was bumped in the head by Sabres forward William Carrier.

Backup goalie Curtis McElhinney started for Toronto in a 3-2 win over the Florida Panthers on Tuesday.

Andersen is 30-15 in 61 games this season, posting a 2.66 goals-against average and .918 save percentage.
