The #Babwatch heads south as Mike Babcock is set to visit the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.
Despite the pending visit, Friedman still believes the race to land the much sought-after head coach is down to two teams: His longtime home of Detroit and the Buffalo Sabres.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have also been in the conversation about Babcock’s coaching future, but Friedman does not think that’s where Babcock will end up.
“I could be wrong about Toronto, but I just think that they’re at the bottom of a total restart and he’s (Babcock) not going to be patient enough to lose there for three or four years,” he said during a Hockey Night in Canada broadcast Monday.
Babcock is expected to make his decision this week.
