Edmonton Oilers prospects received guidance from one of Canada’s greatest hockey players on Sunday.
Hayley Wickenheiser served as a guest coach at their development camp, which sees the team’s youngsters put through the paces.
Wickenheiser, 38, announced her retirement in January after a career that saw her win five Olympic medals, including four gold. She is Canada’s all-time leading scorer.
The Oilers recognized her achievements before a January game against the Calgary Flames with Wayne Gretzky calling her “the female Gordie Howe.”
