Holland, Maple Leafs avoid arbitration with 1-year deal

Watch as Toronto Maple Leafs forward Peter Holland makes a remarkable no-look, through the legs pass to defenceman Morgan Rielly who scores to cut the Nashville Predators lead to one.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have avoided arbitration with restricted free agent forward Peter Holland.

Holland signed a one-year deal with the Maple Leafs worth $1.3 million, the team announced Monday.

An arbitration hearing was set for Monday. The 25-year-old was seeking a $2.1-million award, while the team countered with a $900,000 offer.

Holland totalled nine goals and 27 points in 65 games with the Maple Leafs in 2015-16.

The Anaheim Ducks originally selected Holland in the first round (15th overall) at the 2009 NHL Draft.
