Jets make Alex Burmistrov ‘available’ for trade

The Hockey Night in Canada panel go over all the news around the NHL, including Jacob Trouba’s agent meeting with the Winnipeg Jets, Ottawa not getting an outdoor game on Parliament Hill and injury updates.

Alex Burmistrov‘s time with the Winnipeg Jets may be up.

Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported Saturday that the forward is on the trading block. The eighth overall draft choice of the Atlanta Thrashers in 2010 is scoreless through 11 games this season.

“There was a note sent around this week that Alexander Burmistrov is available,” said Friedman on Saturday’s Headlines segment. “I don’t think there’s been a trade request here but an understanding that this isn’t working for either side right now. The Jets are looking to see what they can get for him.”

Burmistrov, 25, is playing in his fifth NHL season, all with the Thrashers/Jets organization. He played two seasons in the KHL from 2013-2015 between stints in the NHL. He has 30 goals and 80 points in 286 NHL games.
