Defenceman Damir Ryspayev is no stranger to the top of the Kontinental Hockey League’s fighting major leaderboards.
Despite appearing in just 23 regular season games over the past two seasons, the Astana Barys brawler has totalled 10 fighting majors, according to hockeyfights.com‘s data. The 21-year-old attempted to eclipse his career scraps total during a single shift during a KHL pre-season game Monday.
Ryspayev dropped the mitts and fought every Kunlun Red Star player he could get his hands on, including several seated on the bench. Hockey blogger Jeff Veillette captured the footage and posted it to Twitter.
This is the "brawl" that caused Barys/Kunlun to end after 3 minutes. Damir Ryspayev should be banned from hockey. pic.twitter.com/b6OpcuUf5i

Ryspayev’s rampage led to the game being called just three minutes in.
It appears Ryspayev has already been dealt some discipline for his transgressions.
Ryspayev has zero points and 194 penalty minutes in 23 career games with Astana Barys.
If the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey is looking for its next great puncher, Ryspayev may be worth taking a flier on.
