Kings’ Gaborik cleared to play, will be game-time decision

Watch as Los Angeles Kings forward Marian Gaborik skates gingerly off the ice after colliding with New York Rangers forward Dominic Moore.

Los Angeles Kings forward Marian Gaborik has been cleared to play and will be a game-time decision for Game 2 against the San Jose Sharks on Saturday.

The 34-year-old has been out since Feb. 12 with a knee injury sustained in a collision with New York Rangers forward Dominic Moore.

He skated on a line with Milan Lucic and Anze Kopitar at Saturday’s morning skate and could provide an offensive boost to the Kings, who lost Game 1 to the Sharks by a 4-3 score on Thursday.

Gaborik scored 12 goals and added 10 assists in 54 games this season and has 57 points (32 goals, 25 assists) in 80 career playoff games.

Twenty-six of those games came with the Kings in 2014, where he scored 14 goals and added eight assists as Los Angeles won the Stanley Cup.

Game 2 of their Round 1 matchup starts at 10:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on CBC.
