Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Carl Grundstrom had surgery on his left knee and is expected to be out for the next four to six weeks according to Swedish news outlet Expressen.

The 19-year-old suffered the injury back on Nov. 17th when Frolunda HC was playing against Lulea HF. Grundstrom has been through some tough injuries this season missing a couple of weeks with a jaw injury and another game with a foot injury.

The initial report on the injury did not look good as Frolunda head coach Roger Ronnberg thought it was going to be a season-ending injury.

In 11 games with Frolunda, Grundstrom has five goals and an assist. Last season he came over for six games with the Toronto Marlies in the AHL playoffs scoring three goals and an assist in six games.
